Why Family Meals Matter?
The data on why family meals matter is positively overwhelming.
Study after study provides significant, measurable, scientific proof about the positive, lifelong benefits of family meals.
As we approach the hectic time of the holiday season please continue to encourage and support your tweens and teens and focus on regular family meals together without technology to encourage conversations. Research shows that children with hands-on parents are far less likely to smoke, drink or use other drugs. Communication between teens and their parents is a key factor in influencing their decisions. For more information on specific drug trends and tips for talking to your kids, check out the Talk Sooner website.

OK2Say: OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
